Open Subject Competitions

There are three sets of competitions; one set for each image medium; prints, digital projected images and slides. A set of competitions for an image medium consists of five rounds held at intervals during the club season. Please see the Full Programme for the judging dates. Hand-in dates are two weeks prior to the judging date, to allow marking and display lists to be prepared, and the judge to preview the entries. For convenience the digital projected image and slide competition rounds are held on the same night but they are marked independently.

Members can enter up to two images for each round, and compete in classes which are allocated at the start of each season, based on experience. A member may be allocated different classes for each image medium. A given image may only be entered once; irrespective of medium or round.

Please see the Club Competition Rules pdf icon for details on preparing entries, the calculation of the annual winner for each image medium, and the Photographer of the Year.

There is a secretary appointed by the club to collate the entries for each image medium.
